CREDIT REPAIR: How do i dispute inaccurate information?
Usually, you will find a "dispute form" with your credit report. Write down exactly what you believe is inaccurate in your report on this form and send it back to the credit reporting bureau. If the form does not have room to explain the inaccurate information fully, write a letter. Keep copies of all correspondence.
The credit reporting bureau will check the information with the company or person that provided it. The credit bureau has 30 days to answer your dispute. If the company that provided the information you are disputing believes that the information is correct, it will remain on your credit report.
